It has been several months since Mr. Ivo Robotnik, has given himself his Dr. Eggman alter ego. And while he was still a nice man deep at heart, he did grow displeased with Sonic always destroying his creations. So in order to deal with Sonic safely, he built a robotic replica of Sonic, just to perform harmless crimes like theft. Combined with its speed, the security staff would confuse the mostly blue & slightly green blurr on the security camera's for Sonic himself, this would put Sonic safely in jail. And this plan was a success… to successful, Metal Sonic kept getting more & more destructive, eventually getting indetified by the public when Metal Sonic was fighting the real Sonic. But Ivo Robotnik was not pleased with the fact that his greatest invention has failed, so he promiced himself and his future successors, to create better versions of Metal Sonic, everytime one gets destroyed.
