Wasn't originally gonna post this one since it was a fairly quick sketch and color — but it gained a good amount of traction on Tumblr, so figured some might like it here too!
The characters are Whisper the wolf and Tangle the lemur from the IDW Sonic The Hedgehog comics. They were what introduced me to the new series through their mini spinoff "Tangle & Whisper", and I got attached to both these characters very fast, haha.
I'm not very subtle on how I like to imagine their relationship. I never draw shipping stuff, with these two I just couldn't resist.
If anyone is curious of the comics, I can't lie, I was ironically more invested in Whisper and Tangle's mini storyline than the main one. It had a very personal premise to the characters and with a villain that felt like an actual threat to their lives (the main series has its strong points, I still am buying every issue to keep up, I just REALLY enjoyed these two and the more simple/personal plot). They both show growth at a reasonable pace, and the impact these two's dynamic has in the main series wouldn't hit half as hard at times without reading their spinoff first. But when you DO read both for context… OOF.
